The team of the Associazione Art. Cult. “ARocca” and EProjectConsult International department, in cooperation with Staatliche Gewerbeschule Gastronomie und Ernährungtook took the role of intermediary partner for one person from Hamburg, Germany in the frame of Erasmus+ programme during the project named “Mobilität in der dualen Ausbildung des hamburgischen Hotel- und Gaststättengewerbes.

From the 28th of November to the 18th of December 2016 we hosted 1 selected participant, Anna-Lena Campello. The internship was in the sector of hotel services, thereby she gained experience in her field of studies and become acquainted with the traditional Italian way of labour.

Cultural Programme

In her free time the participant had a chance to visit some fabulous places in Sicily and to know Italian and Sicilian cuisine thanks to local restaurants. We hope that her experience of living abroad was helpful and culturally fulfilling.

General Skills and Competencies Acquired:

  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources in the field related;
  • Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships: learning on developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others;
  • Development of specialized Italian language skills;
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making;
  • Developing social perspectives and being aware of reactions of other co-workers and supervisors;
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made.

Skills and professional competences acquired:

  • Hotel services including reception and reservations;
  • Planning and organising arrivals, accommodation, catering and other hotel services;
  • Sending Quotes;
  • Meeting and greeting customers;
  • Dealing with customer complaints and comments;
  • Addressing problems and troubleshooting.

At the end of the project, the participant received “A Rocca placement certificate” and EUROPASS. We hope that they have learned new techniques and methods that will be valuable in her future workplace and will help her to stand out in German labor market.
