Our team in cooperation with Astiki Mi Kerdoskopiki Eteria En Gnosi, took the role of intermediary partner for a group of 6 people from Greece in the frame of Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo da Vinci during the project Improving the Touristic Service. Our new Greek friends were here from 1/06/2014 to 27/07/2014 with the aim to gain professional experience and discover amazing Sicilian culture. Interns had the opportunity to learn skills needed for a future professional career in the field related with tourism. The placements were located in 6 relative enterprises in the town of Barcellona P.G. such as restaurant, hotel, bed & breakfast, museum-park and office work.
Cultural Programme
In the free time they had chance to visit some beautiful places in Sicily, and know Italian cuisine thanks to the local restaurants.

General Skills and Competencies Acquired:
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources in the field related;

- Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made.
In order to facilitate the participants’ integration in the Italian culture, they took part in a 20 hour Italian Course, which consisted of 2 hour lessons given in 4 weeks. Learning of the Italian language increased the value of the whole traineeship program, as the participants received certification for the learning outcomes and had a possibility to combine professional training with studying foreign languages. Moreover, participants had opportunity to explore new horizons by fully integrating in Sicilian culture and meeting many new friends from Italy and from the other parts of world. We are very happy that we had the possibility to work with this group and get to know those wonderful people, their culture as traditional cuisine during the intercultural events.
