For 2 weeks you could hear polish music and see polish dancers performing at their best. Artists from “Państwowe Policealne Studium Zawodowe Wokalno-Baletowe” came to Sicily under the Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Programme to participate in the project in the field of the dancing and singing, thereby they gained experience in their field of studies and become acquainted with the traditional Italian and Sicilian techniques. They not only enjoyed the sunny Sicilian weather and beautiful views, but also worked hard to excel during their performances at various festivals like Espressivamente and workshops organized by the Associazione Artistica Culturale “A Rocca” international department EProjectConsult.
Cultural Programme
During their stay, they did the sightseeing of the Sicily region beginning with the Milazzo city, Taormina , Savoca, Aeolian Islands (Lipari and Volcano), Jalari Park Museum and finishing with the beautiful Cefalù and Petralia.
Internship
- Pop Singing Lessons with Armonia Band: The group learned about traditional Italian songs beginning from 16th century operas to nowadays modern music. To get better feeling about the Italian music specifics, artists learned 4 Italian songs.
- Ballet Workshop with prof. Rosalba Antonuccio: The practice began with the learning of the ballet basic steps. After long hours of rehearsals, the group applied acquired knowledge in the most famous Russian two-act ballet, The Nutcracker (Russian: Щелкунчик). It was very valuable experience for the participants since the ballet is one of the most famous worldwide.
- Latin Dancing Lessons with Miss Desiré Mazzeo – Miss Desiré Mazzeo presented Latin dances techniques that filled the atmosphere with lively Latino rhythms.
- Folk Dancing Lessons – during 3 days, artists were introduced to Italian folk dances from Souther Italy like energetic Tamburiada(Campania region), Pizzica(Puglia region) and Tarantella (Sicily).

General Skills and Competencies Acquired:
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources in the field related;
- Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships: learning on developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others;
- Development of specialized Italian language skills;
- Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making;
- Developing social perspectives and being aware of reactions of other co-workers and supervisors;
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made.

The group had also the opportunity to represent its native country’s customs in front of a big audience during several public events:
- Festa dei Popoli in Cannistrà 12/08/14 located in the countryside surroundings, near Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.
- Espressivamente Street Art Festival organized from the “Jalari” Cultural Association 18-19/08/14 a professional organization, which promotes the local culture. ,”Jalari” organises annual events like the film festival “Jalari in Corto”, an annual gathering of Artistic Expression “atmospheres … Music … Art in the street” (EspressivaMente) and many other concerts, fairs and exhibitions. “Jalari” Cultural Association offered the training experience focusing on social and entertaining activities with foreign people, mainly immigrants. Methodologies focused on facilitating their daily life and their integration in the society.
- Festa del Gelato (The Ice Cream Festival) 21/08/14 in Terme Vigliatore, situated not far from the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.
- Jazz Festival 22/08/14 in Petralia (Palermo province) , positioned in a small village in the Madonie mountains.
In addition to everything mentioned above, the performers had an exclusive opportunity to participate in the debate with Roberta Macrì. By organizing such debate, international department EProjectConsult wanted to connect the project to the real life, to show, that there is nothing impossible to those who are trying. The debate not only made everyone think about priorities in life, but also presented how strong the person with the passion is. Sadly it is time to say goodbye, but we really hope that they enjoyed their stay, the fascinating Italian music and they return someday! Goodbye guys!
