The project Become More Professional, which belongs to Leonardo ITV Poland, has successfully ended!
On the 15th of June 2013, in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily, started new project titled Become more Professional carried out by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System within the European Social Fund – the Human Operational Programme. The EProjectConsult office, International department of the A Rocca NGO in cooperation with Polish school ZespółSzkółPonadgimnazjalnych no 3 in Mysłowice, was responsible for the project implementation. There were eighteen Polish participants, who performed their learning and training experience from the 15th of June to the 12th of July 2013.
Our participants from Poland had a unique opportunity to get an experience in the field of hotel sector and catering. During their stay in Sicily they were working in 4 different hotels located in Terme Vigliatore, namely in Sait Hotel, Il Gabbiano Hotel, Terme Park Hotel and Parco Augusto Hotel.

Evaluation of the project
The evaluation of the project is invaluable. According to the motivation and experience of each participant, they performed different tasks: they were working at the hotel reception, making up and preparing rooms for guests and working as waiters. By participating in this project they gained valuable international work experience in their professional fields. Additionally, they acquired skills and competences which will help them to start their future professional carriers. They had also an opportunity to better understood cultural differences and norms in the Italian workplace. Moreover, we hope that this gained abroad work experience enhanced their independence and flexibility, communication and language skills (we provided them with 20 hours of Italian language course with highly qualified teacher), and contributed to their personal development.
Moreover, during their free time they had the possibility to explore unique beauty of Sicily: they visited such places like Taormina, Aeolian Islands (Volcano and Lipari), Milazzo, Cefalù and Palermo. We hope that this travel experience expanded their horizons and let them know Italian culture and broadened their knowledge about our country.
Conclusion
The participants of the project seemed to be really satisfied with gained experience. The benefits that they have gained from this programme extend not only to the development of practical skills in their domain, but also the cultural experience of living and working in a foreign country. On final days of the project our participants received certificates. The team of EProjectConsult trust that it was a positive and enlightening experience for youth from Poland. Additionally, we want to express our gratitude to all the participants for their involvement and commitment to their work.
