EProjectConsult and “A Rocca”, in cooperation with Kauno Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, hosted from the 25th June until the 30th June, 2015 a staff member (teacher) from Kaunas, Lithuania in the frame of Erasmus+, KA1 Mobility project for higher education students and staff. During the project named “STAFF TRAINING MOBILITY UNDER ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME: Catering Training Course” we hosted one teacher who had job-shadowing activities and courses in various restaurants and coffee shops. The course was organised in the area of catering.

The teacher observed the work in restaurants and coffee shops that specialize in various areas: gourmet food, pizzas, steaks, desserts. Professional trainers were carefully selected from different fields, in order to provide an opportunity to observe a great variety of catering sectors.

The participant had the opportunity to improve skills and expand the knowledge needed for teaching catering and food decor techniques. The participant attended job-shadowing activities led by chefs of different restaurants and also had an opportunity to assist chefs by cooking together.

Cultural Programme

In the free time they had chance to visit some beautiful places in Sicily, and know Italian cuisine thanks to the local restaurants.

General Skills and Competencies Acquired:

  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources in the field related;
  • Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships: learning on developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others;
  • Development of specialized Italian language skills;
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making;
  • Developing social perspectives and being aware of reactions of other co-workers and supervisors;
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made.

After the project was implemented the participant received “A Rocca training certificate” . We hope that the participant has learned new techniques and methods and will adapt them in her work at the university.
