The participants gained experience in their field of studies and become acquainted with the traditional Italian and Sicilian way of labour. They gained knowledge about mental disabilities and illnesses and learned to use this knowledge in practice. They participated in the different steps related to the care process and learned to communicate respectfully and sensitively with clients and their families/close friends. The participants also acknowledged that the development of these intimate relations with different actors can contribute to the patience’s recovery in a positive way. Overall the participants took part in the everyday work and recovery of the patients/residents and learned to interact in an international environment and improve their foreign language skills.

Most importantly the participants gained professional experience in their sector, so that they will be more competitive in the labor market in Sweden.
