Gastronomy and ICT sector

The team of the Associazione Art. Cult. “A Rocca and Eprojectconsult International department, in cooperation with an Estonian Vocational Education Centre hosted a group from Kehtna, Estonia in the frame of Erasmus+ programme. We hosted 5 selected participants during the project named “Avastan maailma!”. The internships were in the field of gastronomy and ICT thereby they gained experience in their field of studies and become acquainted with the traditional Italian and Sicilian way of labour.

Cultural Programme

In the free time they had chance to visit some beautiful places in Sicily, including Palermo, Cefalù and know Italian cuisine thanks to the local restaurants. We hope that their experience of living abroad was unforgettable and enriching in the cultural way.

Internship

General Skills and Competencies Acquired:

The participants received information from all the relevant sources in the restaurant business and ICT sector. Learn new skills and add to your knowledge base while gaining confidence in your abilities.

The students in the field of ITC had the opportunity work website design, development, maintenance and improvement, Blackboard maintenance and administration, technical support

The cooks executed preparatory work and learned to prepare typical Sicilian dishes together with the local cooks. The participants also gained knowledge of environmental and health protecting standards and maintained a safe a hygienic work environment. Overall the participants got to work in an international and energetic environment and surely also improved their foreign language skills.

At the end of the project, participants received “A Rocca” placement certificate and the Europass.  Most importantly the participants gained professional experience in their sector, so that they will be more competitive in the labor market in Estonia.

Consequently, the participants seemed to be satisfied with this project, and from their evaluations it is clear that they feel it was an interesting and useful experience. We are satisfied with the seemingly flawless success of the project and hope that we can continue our cooperation with the Estonian Vocational Education Centre.
