EProjectconsult is a growing NGO working in international education and digital innovation.

We are expanding our internal IT structure and looking for a motivated IT Specialist who wants to grow professionally within a dynamic organization.

This role is ideal for someone seeking long-term development and increasing responsibility over time.

Role Overview

• IT infrastructure and networking
• Website and digital platform management
• Cloud services administration
• Cybersecurity monitoring
• Coordination with external IT and app development providers

Mobile app development is managed by an external provider. The IT Specialist will act as the internal technical contact person and support coordination.

This position offers progressive growth toward a Senior IT / IT Manager role.

Core Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems

• Maintain LAN/WAN network and internet connectivity
• Monitor NAS systems and backups (QNAP / Synology)
• Manage Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
• Support firewall and security configurations

Web & Digital Platforms

• Manage and update WordPress website
• Support database management (MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase)
• Assist with integrations and performance improvements

External Provider Coordination

• Communicate technical requirements to mobile app provider
• Test updates and report improvements
• Monitor development progress

Internal IT Support

• Provide technical support to staff
• Assist with hardware installation and maintenance
• Ensure systems are updated and secure

Ongoing Responsibilities

• System monitoring and updates
• Backup verification
• Basic cybersecurity checks
• Website performance review
• Support digital innovation initiatives

Ideal Profile

• Background in IT, Computer Science, or similar
• Basic-to-intermediate experience in system administration
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Comfortable with WordPress and databases
• Problem-solving oriented
• Fluent in English
• Motivated to grow within the organization

Experience in vendor coordination is appreciated but not mandatory.

Terms & Conditions

Location

Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Province of Messina, Sicily (Italy)
Occasional business travel within Europe may be required.

Contract Type

• Full-time employment contract (40 hours per week)
• Regulated under Italian Labour Law (Legislative Decree 81/2015 and subsequent amendments)
• Renewable subject to project funding
• Reduced-hour contract may be evaluated (salary adjusted proportionally)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
09:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00

Part-time arrangements may be considered.

Salary

€1,300 – €1,500 net per month (full-time)
Based on qualifications and experience

• Proportional adjustment for reduced working hours
• 13th and 14th monthly salary included as per Italian law

Onboarding & Smart Working

• Position is primarily on-site
• Minimum 3 months in-person presence required
• Partial smart working may be evaluated after onboarding

Leave Entitlement

26 working days per year (Legislative Decree 66/2003)
