EU Journeys Brings European Values to Life Through Art and AI in Sicily
On 14 February 2026, EProjectConsult – Istituto Europeo Formazione e Ricerca hosted a special local event in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (Sicily) as part of the European project EU Journeys – Uniting Stories of European Integration, funded by the European Union under the CERV programme.
Held at Unico Hotel, the initiative combined a co-creative painting workshop, a multimedia exhibition, and a networking apericena, transforming European values into a shared artistic experience.
A Participatory Workshop on European Values
The afternoon opened with “Painting European Values Together”, a participatory art workshop focused on key EU priorities: Next Generation EU, New European Bauhaus, European Citizenship, and the European Green Deal.
Led by artist Lorenzo Maniscalco and developed in collaboration with Sicilian content creator Ilenia Curiale (@TiCiDevoPortare_InSicilia), the workshop invited participants to co-create artistic panels inspired by European integration and shared values.
The artworks produced during the session will remain permanently displayed at Unico Hotel, reinforcing the connection between local communities and European identity.
Human Art × Artificial Intelligence
In the evening, the multimedia exhibition opened to the public, exploring the intersection between human creativity and generative artificial intelligence.
Original works by NessuNettuno, Andrea Sposari, and Lorenzo Maniscalco were presented alongside AI-generated reinterpretations inspired by their distinctive styles. By revealing the prompts behind the creative process, the exhibition encouraged visitors to reflect on how digital tools can foster dialogue, innovation, and new perspectives on European integration.
Strengthening European Identity Through Citizen Engagement
EU Journeys aims to promote a stronger sense of belonging to the European Union by sharing its history, values, and impact through art, storytelling, and participation.
The event in Sicily demonstrated how contemporary art, AI, and citizen engagement can create meaningful spaces for dialogue at local level — bridging European policies and everyday experiences.
The evening concluded with an apericena and networking session with the artists, offering participants the opportunity to continue the conversation in an informal and community-oriented setting.
