Erasmus+ Internship
agriculture and wine industry sector
The team of the Associazione Art. Cult. “ARocca” and EProjectConsult International department, in cooperation with 1st Ergastiriako Kentro Verias took the role of hosting partner for a group of people from Veria, Greece, in the frame of the Erasmus+ programme. During the project named “From Grape to Wine and Market” we hosted 15 selected students and 2 accompanying persons. The internship was in the sector of agriculture and wine industry, thereby they gained experience in their field of studies and become acquainted with the traditional Italian techniques.
Cultural Programme
In the free time they had chance to visit some fabulous places in Italy, including Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano and Siena and to know Italian cuisine thanks to the local restaurants. We hope that their experience of living abroad was helpful and culturally fulfilling.

The visits of the wineyard were meant to give a comprehensive look of cultivation techniques, recognizing the varieties of grapes, training systems etc.
The visit of Processing Unit gave to the participants the opportunity to look closely at the wine production process, as well as they learnt about its commercialization abroad, the marketing development and export plan for wine with the aid of the agroeconomist of the company.
Skills and professional competences acquired
- Biological and conventional cultivation of grapes. Vine cultivation techniques, pruning systems, phyto-sanitary methods etc.;
- Wine production. Estimation of the most appropriate time for harvest. Production of red wines, white wines, DOC wines;
- Quality control and quality assurance systems in wineries. ISO 22000 in particular;
- Communication plan & product placement – branding, marketing plan/export plan. Commercial negotiation technique.
At the end of the project, participants received “A Rocca placement certificate”. We hope that they have learned new techniques and methods that will be valuable in their future workplace and will help them to stand out in the Greek labor market.
