EMPOWER+ Project
Officially Launched with Online Kick-off Meeting
ERASMUS-YOUTH-2025-CB-SSA – Capacity Building in the field of Youth in Sub-Saharan Africa
The EMPOWER+ project – Empowering Rural Youth: Establishing and Strengthening the Rural Youth Parliament in Sub-Saharan Africa – officially started with an online Kick-off Meeting held earlier this week.
This first coordination meeting marked the beginning of an exciting Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the field of Youth project, bringing together partners from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa to launch activities, align goals, and plan the next steps of implementation.
During the meeting, partners introduced their organizations, discussed the coordination structure, and reviewed the project timeline and management tools. The consortium also agreed on the dates for the in-person Kick-off Meeting, which will take place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, at the end of January 2026. This event will represent an important milestone to strengthen collaboration among partners and set the foundation for the project’s upcoming phases.
The EMPOWER+ project aims to foster youth participation and civic engagement in rural areas by creating and supporting Rural Youth Parliaments (RYPs). These participatory platforms will empower young people to engage in local governance, contribute to sustainable community development, and promote dialogue between Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
This initiative also marks a special milestone for A Rocca, as EMPOWER+ is the first Capacity Building project in which the organization takes part as a partner, contributing to dissemination, communication, and impact evaluation activities.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this inspiring journey towards empowering rural youth and promoting meaningful international cooperation!
