One of the activity we love to carry on here EProjectConsult is the promotion of our awesome island.
For sure you’ve heard many stories about Sicily and perhaps they are all true. A land and a place anthropologically complex and at the same time fascinating: Greek and Roman art, Byzantine and Islamic heritage, baroque and folk traditions do not tell everything about her. Sicily has been inhabited for over ten thousand years, several civilizations have trodden the soils of its strategic position at the centre of the Mediterranean Sea and it is reflected in many aspects of life. The most evident influence is in Sicilian food.
Recently the capital of Sicily, Palermo, has been elected the European Capital of Street Food. Among the delicacies offered by street vendors, we find arancini, the famous Sicilian rice balls with choice of meat or bacon and pannele (simple squares of fried, smashed chickpeas and herbs that are eaten with bread). The sfincione is a local version of pizza, made with tomato sauce, caciocavallo cheese, onions, and anchovies on top of a thick and soft crust. Every little piece of this big island has its own speciality. For example we are very proud of our summer breakfast. Before you go to the beach, at the bar you can order granita, a semi-frozen drink made with crushed ice with different flavors (lemon, strawberry, peach, coffee…)
Sicily is also full of historical beauties: Is the Italian region with the highest concentration of sites included in the Unesco World Heritage List, signs of the greatest cultural stratification of the world. The Valley of the Temples at Agrigento, the Roman Villa del Casale at Piazza Armerina, the Aeolian Islands, the Val di Noto, Syracuse and Pantalica, and its great volcano Etna, symbol of the irresistible beauty and vitality of this incredibly charming region.
For all these reasons and many others, Sicily is a very famous destination for those who are seeking to make documentaries, films, TV series and advertisements on culture, heritage and nature of the Mediterranean Sea.
We provide an integrative service for film crews, advertising agencies, journalists, investors and all those looking for local guides and translators. We have established strong contacts with many specialists such as consultants, lawyers, guides, translators, artists and journalists.
Lately, we are working for the second time for a party of Harvard University undergraduates on an excursion to Sicily, offering them our support on getting permits from the Institutions in order to take pictures of the Syracuse amphitheatre, Motya and Museo Aidone to study the monuments of Sicily’s classical past.
